CH Silvani Regallust Dangerous Beauty DCAT
A friend of mine had a beautiful boy that I admired, so I arranged to lease his mother and bred her to the same sire. Juno was my keeper from the resulting litter. She’s just what I was hoping for, structurally sound, curves in all the right places, and a sweet and sassy personality! Juno finished her championship quickly, even though she wasn’t particularly thrilled with showing. She did it because I asked her to and, thank goodness, she was easy to show.
Juno doesn’t believe in strangers and will climb into anyone’s lap who’ll let her. She’s been a great breed ambassador! Any time someone wants to meet iggies for the first time, they fall in love with her. Even people who aren’t big into dogs end up loving her. She climbs up, melts into you, and stares lovingly into your eyes… How can you not love that?
A couple of my favorite quirks are her rooroorooing when she wants attention (which she’s passed down to several of her pups and which is usually sung around a toy in her mouth) and her List of Unacceptable Animals. She often watches tv with me and has *opinions* on the creatures she sees! Her List includes such things as ostriches, nudibraches, leopards, beavers, meercats, Simon’s Cat (a cartoon), hamsters (wild ones only), the unicorn from Stardust (all others are ok), wooly rhinos, lystrosaurus (other dinos are ok), cockroaches, and basking sharks. This is not the entire List. No one knows what criteria she uses since there can be multiples of the same creature in a show, but only *that one* is offensive. She makes me laugh!
The funniest addition to the list was when I watched a video which followed a baby duck around. That baby duck, and by extension ALL ducks, was an immediate addition to the List! Then I started watching a Netflix series hosted by Zac Efron. She’s seen him in other things and took no notice, but a BEARDED Zac was a no-go. Then, after all that, an episode came on that had bearded Zac AND ducks in the same scene! Chaos ensued as she barked her head off at the screen!
Juno is a fantastic momma! She loves babies…ALL babies! When she and her daughter had puppies had litters at the same time, she ended up stealing Sally’s babies so she could nurse them along with her own. (Don’t worry, Sally didn’t mind!) She is great about putting up with puppy antics, yet teaching them manners. She plays with them and lets them pester her long after other mommas have started avoiding those little land sharks. She’s retired from the whelping box now, but I’m sure she’s going to have fun with the next generation of babies!
Just like Ghost, Juno’s passion (besides babies) is chasing things! She loves FastCAT, the laser dot, drones, the lunge whip, etc. The first time she outran Ghost at FastCAT was a bit bittersweet, but I was proud of my athletic, drivey girl!
