Alveare's Silver Bullet
"Bullet"
7/4/1994 - 9/8/2009
Bullet was my Old Man. He was with me through everything life threw at me, and kept me sane! When I was younger, I'd look at the pictures of other people's old dogs with their white faces and tongues hanging out, and think, "I'd hate it if my dog did that!" I couldn't understand how people thought that could ever be cute. Well, as my once sprightly young man grew older, his dark blue mask and Vulcan eyebrows faded to white and his tongue fell out of his mouth on one side...
and I thought he was adorable! I think that's the upside to dogs' shorter lives:
they show you that old can be beautiful, and to take everything in stride!
We lost Bullet to hemangiosarcoma on September 8th, 2009. I held him in my arms when he went to sleep for the last time. This horrible disease snuck up on us so quickly and quietly that by the time we knew he had it, it was too late.
We miss you baby dog, and will always love you.
We’ll see you again on the other side!
